Dolphin RB’s

July 23, 2008 · Filed Under General News, Running Backs · Comment

The Miami Herald reports that Ricky Williams is looking like the best player on the practice filed.  Thus far he has lloked better than Ronnie Brown and may carry more of a load than expected.  the Dolphins are weak on both offense and defense, so his fantasy value is still late round flier at best.

Chad will Show

July 22, 2008 · Filed Under General News, Wide Receivers · Comment

As part of our ongoing wall to wall coverage of Chad Johnson foxsports.com reports he will arrive at camp on time, but likely not participate immediately as he continues to recover his surgically repaired ankle.  Johnson has stated he wants to get past the unsuccessful attempt to force a trade this off-season and is concerned about his treatment by the fans.

The reality is that it is likely that the fans will not treat Johnson well early in the season, but if he performs as he has in the past they will get past this ugly off-season.  Johnson should look in the mirror and realize the potential he has with the Bengals.  With Carson Palmer at the helm and TJ Houshmanzadeh acting as the alternative threat on the outside, he will get his opportunity to be like a “Rock Star” (see: NFL:In Just One Play).

Draft him early Fantasy owners.

Shockey to Saints

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that Jeremy Shockey is being traded to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints will give up a 2nd and 5th round pick in the 2009 Draft to get the Pro Bowl tight end from the New York Giants.

Skins get ‘Fin

July 21, 2008 · Filed Under General News · Comment

The Redskins defense got on step better today, or at least one step smoother by acquiring Jason Taylor from the Miami Dolphins.  The former Dancing with the Stars contestant is now part of the Washington Redskins, a move likely made necessary by the injury to current DE Philip Daniels who has a ACL injury.

Reports state that the Dolphins will receive a 2nd round pick in 2009 and a 6th rounder in 2010.  These picks are big for a team undergoing a rebuilding effort.  Taylor and GM Bill Parcells were not a good fit together and this move will be best for all concerned.

Taylor 33 had 11 sacks last season and has 117 for his career.
